I can’t find the exact ward location. I was a laparoscopy patient at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital at the Theatre Admissions Unit on 02/05/2025. After being in recovery I returned to the ward and was taken care of by a lovely nurse called Gold. Gold was reassuring, compassionate and professional, she gave me plenty of time to process the information I needed and to ask questions. She was empathetic and encouraged me when I felt vulnerable and in pain following my surgery. I also want to emphasise that the pain/discomfort and general fuzziness you feel following general anaesthetic is significant and therefore Gold’s standard of care and bedside manner to have made so much of an impression of me in this state is testament to what a brilliant nurse she is. Thank you for making me feel safe and cared for, you made a huge difference and the NHS is unbelievably lucky to have you. Please know that your efforts and your dedication to your work is noticed and appreciated by the people you care for. Thank you Gold.

After a very serious stroke all the staff on H2 showed amazing care for my mother, and our various visiting family and friends. What you do really helped us all through an incredibly difficult time. Thank you so much.

Thank you to everyone who looked after my dad, Ken, for the 3 weeks he was with you. It was comforting to know he was being cared for during his final weeks and particularly his last few days. Everyone I spoke to was kind and it really felt you had my dad’s best interests at heart. His illness had changed his personality and that change was evident in the way he spoke to you, he changed from a happy, humorous, chatty and well liked man to being quite nasty. It was obvious you recognised the illness and still gave him the respect and care regardless of being shouted at. His skin was in the best condition it’s been in for years, he wouldn’t let us help him with it at home. In his last few hours he seemed peaceful and comfortable, thank you for everything you did for him. It means so much to me to have had that time with him and despite being utterly heartbroken, seeing him peacefully die will bring me comfort in the future. Overall it is a huge team effort, with different shifts taking turns, and I won’t have met most of you, so this thank you is to you all. I met some amazing people, apologies in my grief and focus on my dad I forgot to ask your names: the sister who my dad told to p off - you were cheery and I could see your care for your patients shining through, The nurse who offered to speak with a Dr about a letter for my daughter - you were so kind, not just focused on my dad, you really appreciated the impact on the whole family, The support worker who offered drinks, biscuits, chairs, found us a Dr to speak to - your friendly considerate approach was much appreciated on our final visit Thank you, two words don’t seem enough but carry so much.

Kiti is not just a wonderful nurse, but a gorgeous person. She took care of my mum Lucy, in what was quite a scary time for us, Kiti was always a beaming ray of positivity that made ICU visits way more enjoyable. Always so kind, caring and took a genuine interest in getting to know us and putting us at ease, while always looking after my mum so wonderfully. Kiti, thank you for all your hard work, your smile is infectious, only 9 months in and you are already the most brilliant nurse, thank you xxx Love Grace

I attended MSK Outpatients (Physio) on Friday 2 May. Stephen was very diligent and spent a lot of time answering all my questions about my recent knee replacement. Just wanted to say that I'm grateful for the support and that he's doing a good job! Thankyou.
