Just a quick thank you to Mr. Salvi and his team in the ocular oncology department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. They were all pleasant and professional and I felt in very safe hands. At the end of the assessment process, Mr Salvi was able to reassure me that there was nothing sinister about a smaller regularity in my left eye, and, thank goodness, that it was not a melanoma! I was enormously relieved by the news and I hope they all realise what a tremendous impact they have on people and their lives. The NHS, at the top of its game! Thank you so much. For the TAU (unit 5) As an NHS worker myself I know we can often forget that we are dealing with individuals who are all different and as such we may be prone to dealing with patients as tasks rather than people who all bring with them a variety of experiences good and bad. At 50 years old and numerous procedure and anaesthetics this was by far the best. All staff were polite, efficient and friendly but I’d like to particularly thank the female ODP and young man who was my anaesthetist who were particularly kind and friendly and made the whole experience less daunting.

Thank you all so so much for caring for Abi before, during and after her tonsillectomy yesterday. You made her feel really reassured throughout the whole day, coped with her slightly crazy post-anaesthetic crying and took time to understand her pain-threshold scoring 😉 As her Mum, I am so thankful to everyone who checked in and supported us throughout the long day and with a view of helping us leave with enough time to make it all the way home. We are both incredibly grateful.

I can’t find the exact ward location. I was a laparoscopy patient at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital at the Theatre Admissions Unit on 02/05/2025. After being in recovery I returned to the ward and was taken care of by a lovely nurse called Gold. Gold was reassuring, compassionate and professional, she gave me plenty of time to process the information I needed and to ask questions. She was empathetic and encouraged me when I felt vulnerable and in pain following my surgery. I also want to emphasise that the pain/discomfort and general fuzziness you feel following general anaesthetic is significant and therefore Gold’s standard of care and bedside manner to have made so much of an impression of me in this state is testament to what a brilliant nurse she is. Thank you for making me feel safe and cared for, you made a huge difference and the NHS is unbelievably lucky to have you. Please know that your efforts and your dedication to your work is noticed and appreciated by the people you care for. Thank you Gold.

After a very serious stroke all the staff on H2 showed amazing care for my mother, and our various visiting family and friends. What you do really helped us all through an incredibly difficult time. Thank you so much.
