A huge thank you to Kevin for looking after me in June. I was brought across from Chesterfield Royal absolutely terrified and he spent time with me to explain everything including the condition I had as I hadn’t heard of it until then, he came back to speak to my husband when he arrived to make sure we were both completely happy with what was happening (no question too silly). He got to know me as a patient too knowing I had a little boy at home at only 10 months and how heartbroken I was to be away from him and he did everything he could to make sure I could get home as soon as I safely could. He even popped in on his day off to make sure I was okay and recovering as he hoped. His bedside manner was incredible, I went from terrified and in tears to calm and well informed. Thank you so much for looking after me so well and I really wish you the best in your career as you are a special kind of doctor that the Hallamshire is lucky to have.

Thank you for the professional but personal explanation of the elective c section procedure yesterday to my wife Andrea J. It helped her stay calm and informed. We ran out of time to have the procedure in the end but your explanation as to why was also appreciated. Thank you

We would just like to say a massive thank you to Jamie on Rivelin Ward. She was absolutely fantastic with us during our stay on the ward and through my section. She is a fabulous Midwife and a real credit to Jessops. She went above and beyond to make sure we were alright and put us at ease explaining everything along the way. She is clearly very knowledgeable and competent at what she does. Thanks again!

Ella was our midwife from the early hours until my wife was handed over to the Whirlow ward. She was a massive help and solid support for us both in a crazy stressful situation of an emergency C section on limited sleep! I can vividly remember her congratulating us in surgery, she seemed genuinely so happy for us and it really helped us enjoy the moment and get excited for our two baby twin boys :)

I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank the doctors and wider team in A&E for the incredible care and compassion you showed me following an incident in June 2025, when I was struck by a car. I had been participating in a C2R course and had briefly returned to my van to grab a flask when I was clipped by a passing vehicle. Following this, I was brought to your department, where I received exemplary treatment and support throughout what was a difficult and unexpected experience. As a HART Paramedic, I’m used to being on the other side of such situations—providing care and reassurance to others in moments of crisis. Being on the receiving end of that care was both humbling and reassuring, and I was genuinely moved by the professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail shown by the doctors who treated me. From initial assessment through to onward care planning, I felt safe, well-informed, and looked after. The team took the time to explain everything clearly, kept me comfortable, and ensured I was fully supported both clinically and emotionally. Please pass on my heartfelt thanks to the doctors and all involved in my care that day. You are a credit to the NHS, and I’m extremely grateful for everything you did for me. From the initial making of the appointment, the reception staff, the consultation, the x-ray and photography, the procedure , the members of staff were all very courteous, kind, professional and reassuring. Any questions were answered in a clear and simple way. My experience was Amazing .
